Pilot Fish Launches New Site

AKRON, Ohio (January 8, 2007) — Web design and search engine optimization firm Pilot Fish, of Akron, Ohio, has launched a new web site that provides marketing managers with useful information on web site design, search engine optimization and Internet marketing.

Among the site’s new features is a resource center with links to valuable sites on these topics. The site also has several blogs devoted to web design and SEO.

“Among the biggest challenges in successfully marketing a web site is staying on top of the ever-changing requirements of search engines and filtering good information from all the bad being disseminated by e-mail and on the Web,” said Pilot Fish President Angela Charles. “Our goal with the new site and resources section is to provide our clients and prospects with current, correct information on how to properly design and optimize a web site for best positioning on the search engines.”

The 12-year-old company recently was featured in an Inside Business magazine article titled “The Thrill of the Search.”

The article, part of Inside Business magazine’s December special section on technology company success stories in Northeast Ohio, highlighted the efforts of Cleveland SEO, an association of local search engine optimization firms dedicated to educating businesses about the importance of search engine optimization and how to avoid being scammed by unreliable or dishonest companies. Pilot Fish is one of the founding member companies of the organization.

Pilot Fish, a division of Polysort LLC, serves primarily business-to-business clients of varying size across the country and Canada.

Social Media Optimization - A new SMO site is born

I can’t even believe it.. I’ve got a blog. It’s my first blog ever and though I’ve been entrenched in the world for years now I’d like to think that I might be able to give a little bit back to the place that I’ve got it from.

Thus is born: SMOmashup.com

As I’ve said, it’s my very first blog and instead of just being random drivel brought to you with some catchy punchline I’ve decided to focus my efforts on a specific part of our industry: Social Media Optimization. Though most all of us deal in some way or another with various forms of marketing on the internet, I’ve decided to go where I’m unnaturally called… the land of MySpace, YouTube, Digg and beyond to see where it is the rest of us can fall into place.

In the world of SEO, so many of us have taken something that’s fairly new to the world and perfected it to a science. The differential to this is the world of SMO, where things we only dream about happen on a daily basis.

At SMOmashup.com I intend to take all of us on a daily journey from the most simplistic (WTF is SMO?) to the most complex (What can Fortune 500 companies do effectively with MySpace?) and just about everything in between. As a newer part of Cleveland SEO I would ask for you to check back each day to see what we can all share from our adventures in the underworld as well as giving up some Link Love to help promote NEO as a place where people can find the cutting edge news in our quickly expanding realm.

Hi everyone,

If you haven’t checked it out yet, be sure to stop by WebMarketingWatch, the home of the new daily web marketing show.

I’ve been doing a fair amount of web marketing videos in 2006. People have seemed to like them. So, the next evolution that seemed to make sense was a complete web marketing show.

I’ll put together a daily web marketing piece that will keep you informed quickly and easily of what is going on in the web marketing world.

Cheers and Happy New Year!
Sage
